Guinea Fowl are native to Africa but the helmeted variety was domesticated along time ago and is now found all over the world. They love to free roam and will find mostfood they need for themselves when provided with enough space. If wild free living Guinea Fowl are close, these might kidnap the domesticated cousins and interbreed, which will eventually lead to a weakening of the wild species.Rearing chicks with chicken or turkey hens will help to keep them attached to human housing. Chicks should be allowedoutside under supervision as soon as possible to keep them healthy.
